Ella L. Fischer, 94, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Valley Memorial Home Woodside Village, Grand Forks. Ella Louise Lange, the daughter of August and Mable (Lenz) Lange was born April 7, 1922 in Union Township of Grand Forks County. She was raised and educated in the Holmes area of Union Township. Ella married Maynard Fischer on October 7, 1944 and they farmed at rural Emerado , ND until they retired and moved to Grand Forks. Ella grew up in a Christian home and was a lifelong member of Holmes United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, Rodney (Mary Jane) Fischer, Grand Forks, and Daniel Fischer, Mesa, AZ; daughter, Eileen Griffin, Coon Rapids, MN; granddaughter, Gail (Eric) Swanstrom, Brooklyn Park, MN; great-grandchildren, Brady, Abby and Evan Swanstrom; sister, Evelyn Lange and brother, Ervin Lange, both of Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard; granddaughter, Lisa Haupert; brother, Raymond Lange; sisters, Agnes Lange, and Alvina Klamm; sisters-in-law, Olga (Raymond) Lange, and Mary (Ervin) Lange; and brother-in-law, Robert (Alvina) Klamm. Funeral Services: will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 in Holmes United Methodist Church, Holmes, North Dakota with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in the Holmes United Methodist Cemetery.
