Lois M. Eider, 82, Grand Forks, died Friday, November 18, 2016 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center, Grand Forks. Lois May Stepanek was born to Cecil and Hazel Stepanek in Grand Forks on September 2, 1934. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks. Lois and Edgar “Mike” Eider were married on August 10, 1950 at Crookston, Minnesota. They lived in the Arvilla-Northwood area. Lois was employed by the Northwood Deaconess Nursing Home as a CNA for 27 years. She was an avid sewer, and enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, and caring for others. She is survived by her children, Janet (John) Kinkade, Minot, ND, Marla Collins, Grand Forks, Julie (Joseph) Grotjohn, Hawley, MN, Steven (Pamela) Eider, Warroad, MN; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Glenna Holweger, East Grand Forks, MN, Helen Lippert, Orlando, FL, Richard (Chris) Stepanek, Hereford, AZ, Betty (Jack) Kennedy, Lake Havasu City, AZ, Marlys Bjorgo (Terry Lehman), Bolingbrook, IL, and Judy (Everett) Plata, Lake Havasu City, AZ; sister-in-law, Betty Fisher, Northwood, ND; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Cecil, Jr. “Buddy”, and Allen; two infant daughters, Elena and Eleanor; brothers-in-law, Edwin Eider, and Ervin Eider; sisters-in-law, Esther Moen and Edna Rice. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
