Geraldine Machipiness

Geraldine “Geri” (Donna) Machipiness, 88, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Valley Eldercare. Geri was born August 27, 1928 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Carl and Anna (Pederson) Olson. She grew up in Thief River Falls graduating from Thief River Falls High School. She then graduated from Aaker’s Business College in August of 1972.  On July 3, 1975, she married Stanley Machipiness. She began her career in Medical Telemetry in 1962. She retired after 33 years of service, receiving numerous awards for dedication in the healthcare profession. She was a loving, devoted mother, who always had time for family, sharing good times and the bad. Family always came first. Geri is survived by her husband Stan, children: Larry Goethe, Biloxi, MS, Lana  Goethe, Bowling Green, KY, Lawrence “Skip” (Marge) Goethe, Mandan, ND, Donny (Ruth) Olson, St. Cloud, MN, Darryl Olson, East Grand Forks, MN, Vickie Welker, East Grand Forks, MN, Rolland Toupin, Grand Forks, ND, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Pat Toupin, David Olson and her daughter Carol Anderson. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND 58201. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
