Kenneth Davidson

Kenneth “Kenny” E. Davidson, Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016.   Kenny was born November 17, 1924, in Ottertail County, MN, to John and Mary Davidson. He grew to manhood and graduated from High School in Sebeka, MN.   He entered the US Army in 1944 and served in the 94th Infantry Division under General George Patton’s 3rd Army in the Allied push across Europe. Kenny earned a Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Citation for the Battle of Saar River Crossing.     He attended Interstate Business College in Fargo where he met his future wife Marion (Huus). They were united in marriage on June 19, 1949.   Kenny worked for the US Postal Service for over thirty years and was a rural mail carrier in Hatton and Grand Forks. After retirement Kenny enjoyed traveling, yard work, and going to grandchildren’s sporting events.   He is survived by his wife Marion of sixty seven years; children, Richard (Sharon) Davidson, Eden Prairie, MN, Marlene (Jerry) Olson, Fargo, Lois Davidson, Aurora, CO, and James (Angela) Davidson, Westminster, CO; grandchildren, Corey (Lisa), Brian, Scott (Nancy), Christopher, Patrick (Mary), Molly, Michael (Cassandra), Lauren, and Ryan; great grandchildren, Zach, Lucas, Jace, Mason, McKenna, and Oskar; and sister, Beatrice Ranta (Cliff) Bigley, Mesa, AZ.   He was preceded in death by his father, John Davidson and his mother, Mary Ranta and step-father, Nestor Ranta; brothers, Gerald and Robert; and sister, Bertha DeLisi.   The family would like to thank the caregivers at Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, ND, for the wonderful care Kenny received.   Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 16, 2016 in Bethany Lutheran Church of rural Hatton, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Hatton. Arrangements are with Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. www.amundsonfuneralhome.com
