Marian Joy Hirsch

Marian Joy Hirsch, 88, passed away December 21, 2016, at Valley 4000 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Marian Joy Willis was born June 7th, 1928 in Hettinger, ND to Theodore M. Willis and Hilma (Olson) Willis. She attended school in Minot, North Dakota and graduated from Minot High School. She married Army Captain Oscar G. Hirsch June 7th, 1952 in Minneapolis, MN. She travelled around the United States and abroad during her husband's military service. She returned to North Dakota with her husband for his final post. Marian dedicated her life to being a homemaker to her husband. She was a devoted, loving, patient and kind mother to all three children: Roger (Jo-) Hirsch, Kenneth (LoAnn) Hirsch, and Susan (Hirsch) Davidson. She loved every moment with her Family. She was very involved with her church and held tightly to her belief in the Lord. It gave her great strength and comfort during the difficult times of her life. She is survived by her remaining children, Roger and Susan; two brothers, James Willis (Ardy Langord) and Ted R. (Marlene Willis); five grandchildren, Kady Hirsch, Kelsey Hirsch, Rachel Davidson, Christopher Stoa, Leah (Daniel) Trosen and five great-grandchildren, Destiny Sime, Easton Sime, Chelsea Davidson, Finnley Anderson and Sterling Trosen. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar; sister, Gloria (Willis) Olson; brother, Gary Willis, and son, Kenneth Hirsch. She will be always loved and greatly missed! FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service. INTERMENT: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
