Edith McGrath

  Edith G. McGrath, 96, Grand Forks and formerly of Emerado, ND, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks.   Edith Grace Griffin was born May 5, 1920 to Hector and Andrine Griffin in rural Mekinock, ND where she was raised and educated, completing her high school education at Grand Forks Central HS.   Edith married Gerald McGrath on April 11, 1942 in Hawthorne, CA. They moved to Emerado where they lived and farmed for many years until moving to Grand Forks in 1990.   Edith was a lifelong member of the Emerado Presbyterian Church.   Survivors include her children, Dennis (Jane) McGrath, Fountain Hills, AZ, Wayne (Paula Bergloff) McGrath, Fargo, ND, Patricia (Robert) Wood, Grand Forks, Judith McGrath, Grand Forks, and Mary (Don Eller) McGrath, Windsor, CO; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.   Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 1996; her parents; 5 sisters and 6 brothers.   Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. A private burial will follow at Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to The Emerado Presbyterian Church.
