Mark Koller

Mark Koller, 53, Grand Forks ND died Saturday February 4, 2017 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.   Mark was born May 6, 1963 in Dickinson, ND to parents Carol (Miles) Olson and Lawrence Koller. Mark attended elementary and high school in Glen Ullin, ND and then received his Truck Mechanics degree from East Grand Forks Technical Institute in June 1988. After graduation Mark became a mechanic at Rydell Chevrolet and was employed there for 26 years before leaving to pursue his dream of driving truck. Mark drove truck for TranSystems for a year and a half prior to being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Mark also worked for many years seasonally for Frank Matejcek and Steve Adams during beet harvest. Mark was a farm boy at heart and loved playing in the dirt.   Mark married Elizabeth Liuska on July 3, 1991 in Grand Forks, ND. They had two sons; Matthew and Cody. After losing Elizabeth to cancer in January 2010, Mark met Susan Melland, his angel, and was married January 4, 2014, gaining two daughters Kerstin and Brita.   Mark lived his life with a positive attitude and was always ready with a joke. Mark was always there to lend a helping hand and didn’t expect anything in return. His faith and family were always his priority. Mark enjoyed going to the casino, listening to country music, going to the Roadhouse Café and Mexican Village, dancing with his angel on Sunday nights at the Legion, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.   Mark is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Matthew Koller and Cody (Jenn) Koller; daughters, Kerstin Buri (Lucas) and Brita ( Russ Jr.) Hons; Grandsons, Eli Koller, Jace and Blake Hons, and Wolfgang(Wolfie) Peterson; mother, Carol Olson and numerous siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.   Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Koller; father, Lawrence Koller; sisters, Carol Ann Ellis and Theresa Davis; mother in law, Alice Liuska.   Visitation will be Friday February 10, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service following beginning at 7 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND.   Funeral Services will be Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at University Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND
