Frances Brown

Frances was born April 27, 1928 in Lallie Township of Benson County, ND, the daughter of Floyd and Eloise (Johnson) Brown. Was raised and educated in Minnewaulkan, ND, then moved to Grand Forks where she made her home. Frances married Robert G. Brown on March 6, 1953 in Crookston, MN. She worked as a cook and waitress at several restaurants in Grand Forks. In her retirement, she was a Santa Claus Girl for 10 years. She was also a foster grandparent at Sunflake preschool for 25 years. Fran loved her work as a Foster Grandparent. She loved working with and seeing the children come and go as they grew up. She truly enjoyed the staff at Sunflake. They were like family to her. She also loved spending time with her family and friends until she no longer could. Dementia took her away from us. She will be greatly missed by all. We love you Mom and Grandma. Survivors include her children, Linda (Dallas) Neumiller, Tammy (Fred) Dickenson, Nancy (Pat) Beggs, Betty (Steve) Elias, and Robin Brown; grandchildren, Melody (Tony) Colucci, Stacy (Adam) Slack, Tim Fontaine, Jeff (Claire) Fontaine, Robert (Sarah) Dickenson, Nathan (Danielle) Dickenson, Dawn (Doug) Robinson, Samantha Beggs, Alyssa Brown, Ashely Brown, and 10 step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister , Maxine Lysne; son-in-law Tim Berhow; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Judy Berhow; step sons, Robert, Jr. and Patrick; granddaughters, Paula Dunnigan and Carla Dickenson; grandson, Carl Stuart; her parents; sister, Twila Tollefson; and brothers-in-law, Adolph Lysne and Jim Tollefson. A Celebration of Frances’ life will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. A family greeting will take place at the church one hour prior to the service.
