Orlin Jore, 92, Larimore, formerly of Grand Forks, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Good Samaritan Society Home, Larimore. Orlin was born May 29, 1924 to Oscar and Lillian (Balkan) Jore in Buxton. He grew up in Buxton, graduating high school. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He married Carol in June of 1947 in Our Savior Lutheran Church in Crookston, MN. Carol died in 1986. They were the parents of four children. He entered into active duty with the Marine Corps in 1943 serving in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign until his honorable discharge in 1946. He was honored to be part of the Honor Flight to Washington DC to visit the World War II Memorial. Upon completing his education, he was employed as a civil engineer with the Great Northern Rail Road and owner of O & C Supply. He was a member of United Lutheran Church and currently a member of University Lutheran Church where he volunteered in various positions. He was a lifelong member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion where he held numerous positions. His interests included reading, gardening, fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, carpentry, and traveling. He enjoyed time at the lake with family during the summer and fishing trips to Lake of the Woods. He spent many years recently with his daughter and family in Virginia. Orlin is survived by his daughters: Nancy (Vern) Hoffert, Linda Jore, Gail Prondzinski; grandchildren: Angela (Brian) Curry, Kristi (Kevin) Allen, Kellie (Troy) Billingsley, Alison (Jeff) Wehri; great grandchildren: Emily and Tyler Curry, Hunter Allen, Mason, Payton, Jackson, and Harper Billingsley, Kelsey, Connor, Claire and Karissa Wehri, a niece and a nephew, and special friend Beverly Lunde. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, and daughter Roberta. A private family service will be held in memory of Orlin. Interment will be held in Memorial Park South Cemetery.
