Lou Ann Richot

Lou Ann Richot, 78, Grand Forks, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Altru Hospital. Lou Ann was born September 6, 1938, in the Clifford, North Dakota area, the daughter of Alfred and Lena (Simonson) Holman. She grew up in Hope, North Dakota, moving to Grand Forks where she graduated from Central High School in 1956. Lou Ann married Gerald “Sonny” Richot in 1957. They made their home in Grand Forks. She worked in home health care, where her passion was caring for the elderly. She cared for many people over the years in Grand Forks, helping them with whatever their needs might be. Lou Ann love spending time at Leach Lake where she would camp and fish with her family and friends. She had a green thumb and always had a beautiful yard and flowers. Lou Ann is survived by her children: Guy Richot, Grand Forks, Gerry Richot, Grand Forks, Jolene (Keith) Soper, Lincoln, AR, grandchildren: Jessica (Chris) Fierro, San Antonio, TX, Brandon Richot, Grand Forks, Michelle Richot, Clear Lake City, TX, Travis (Rachel) Soper, Austin, TX, great grandchildren: Laci Rae Fierro, Lena Fierro, Miles Soper, Mason Richot, many nieces and nephews, and special friends Lou Ann and Dale Vikers, and Janice Masters. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, step-father, mother, sister Donna, and grandson Chris. Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior the start of the service.
