Donald Dobson

Donald “Don” Dobson, 75, Grand Forks, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Altru Hospital. Don was born February 9, 1942, the son of T.W. and Ruth (Houdek) Dobson in Voss, ND. He grew up and attended Minto High School graduating in 1960.  Don then entered the United States Army where he proudly served his country. Don moved to California for a while before moving to Grand Forks. He married Linda Leeson on June 15, 1979 at the Federated Church in Grand Forks.  He worked as a custodian at the University of North Dakota and also as a crew transporter for Professional Transportation INC. driving railroad personnel around the area. He was a Minnesota Twins fan and he loved polkas and waltzes. Don sang in a barbershop quartet. Don is survived by his siblings: Arlene (Eugene) Mach, Grand Forks, Gene Dobson, Grand Forks, Ardell (Marilyn) Dobson, Phoenix, AZ, Dennis (Sharon) Dobson, Burnsville, MN, sister-in-law, Barbie Leeson, Ardoch, brothers-in-law Rodney Leeson, Ardoch, Rodger (Faye) Leeson, Ardoch, Gary Leeson, Grand Forks, Glen (Mollie) Leeson, Park Rapids. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, and his parents. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion United Methodist Church, Grand Forks. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Inurnment will be held in Minto City Cemetery.
