Ardith Gandrud

  Ardith J. Gandrud, 89, Grand Forks, ND, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks.   Ardith Joan Ramey was born September 19, 1927 in Williston, ND, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Helland) Ramey. She was raised on a farm near Williston and graduated from Williston High School in 1946. She attended Minot State Teachers College then worked at Sears, Montgomery Ward and Minot State.   Ardith married Ervin Gandrud on August 23, 1953 in Williston. They lived in Rolla, ND before moving to Grand Forks in 1955.  While raising their children, she was involved in many church activities, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. After raising her children she devoted herself to, and greatly enjoyed her grandchildren.  Survivors include her children, Bruce (Jane) Gandrud, Oakdale, MN, Craig (Suzanne) Gandrud, Grand Forks, and JoAnn (Eric) Albrecht, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Eric Gandrud, Thomas Gandrud, and Brianna Albrecht.   Ardith was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, in 2009; by her parents; and by a brother, David Ramey.   Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 in Calvary Lutheran Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks.
