Mildred E. “Millie” Rudrud, 82, Grand Forks, ND, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Valley Memorial Home Woodside Village. Mildred was born May 25, 1934 in Northwood, ND the daughter of Arne and Caroline (Dahl) Trageton. She was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and graduated from high school at Northwood. She attended business college in Fargo, ND, then began working in Grand Forks as a secretary for Grand Forks Supply. Mildred married Glenn Rudrud on June 28, 1958. She spent the next number of years raising their children and attending their events. She worked as a kitchen server in the Grand Forks Public Schools and later for UND Plant Services where she received numerous awards for her work. Mildred was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed cooking, family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Glenn; children, Diane (Art) Nielsen, Grand Forks, Dean (Kim) Rudrud, Eden Prairie, MN, and David Rudrud, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Paige (Bryan) Sims, John Nielsen, Dillon Rudrud, Brady Rudrud and Spencer Rudrud; great granddaughter, Emmalyn Sims; brother, Arne (Diane) Trageton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Cora Jorde, Adeline Brorby, Ruth Lyste and Lila; brothers, Elvin, Oliver, Howard, and an infant brother, Palmer. The Rudrud family would like to thank the staff of Valley Memorial Home Woodside Village. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery of Honeyford, ND. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Valley Memorial Home Woodside Village, United Lutheran Church, or the Grand Forks Senior Center.
