Raymond L. Hanson, 90, Grand Forks, died Saturday, May 20, 2017, in Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, North Dakota. Raymond Luverne Hanson was born to Hans and Ida (Wickman) Hanson on May 5, 1927 at Hector, Minnesota. In 1938 he moved with his family to a farm near Petersburg, North Dakota, where he attended school. Raymond was united in marriage to Myrna Rodningen on February 20, 1947. They were blessed with two children, Janis Gail and Mark Raymond. Raymond and Myrna farmed until 1950 when they moved to Grand Forks. Raymond was employed by Wavra Motors as a parts manager for 15 years and then became a plumber for Grand Forks Public Schools until his retirement. He enjoyed boating, fishing and camping. Raymond and Myrna spent winters in Arizona and Texas for over 20 years. Raymond is survived by a daughter, Janis, DeSmet, SD; grandchildren, Jason Bowes, and Jessica Driscoll; great-grandsons, Caden and Korban; a brother, Myron, Layfayette, Indiana; brother-in-law, Orman (Lois) Rodningen; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Mark and LeeAnne Ducsavage, Grand Forks; special friend of the family, Morris Davidson, Grand Forks. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrna; a son, Mark; a brother, Merllyn; and son-in-law, Jim. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, with visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
