Alice G. Tunks, 86, died Friday, June 23, 2017 in Valley Eldercare, Riverside Neighborhood, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Alice Grace Hall was born to Clarence and Gladys (Bloomfield) Hall on July 18, 1930 at Ada, Minnesota. She grew up and attended schools in Twin Valley, Minnesota. Alice married Paul Tunks on March 12, 1950 in Ada, Minnesota. They lived at Twin Valley, Minnesota before moving to Portland, Oregon. In 1960 the family moved to Mekinock, North Dakota. For 37 years Alice took great pride cleaning homes and providing personal care. She loved a good game of Bingo and playing cards. She is survived by her 8 children, Susan Moreno, Spring, TX, Paulette Peters, Reynolds, ND, Steven (Kay) Tunks, Bloomington, MN, Deborah (Edward) Persinger, Las Cruces, NM, Cheryl (Michael) Flesche, Mekinock, ND, Patricia (Kelly) Tunks-Jones, Emporia, KS, Thomas Tunks, Mekinock, ND, and Teresa Kraner, Ogden, UT; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1979; her parents; 7 sisters, and 2 brothers. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Ness Lutheran Church, Mekinock, ND with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in Ness Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Ness Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
