LaDora Mae Fuehrer

December 20, 1930 — July 23, 2017

  LaDora Mae Fuehrer went to be with her Lord, Sunday, July 23rd, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. LaDora Mae was born on December 20,1930 in Sarles, ND to Willis and Blanche (Herwick) King.  She was raised and educated in Hannah, ND graduating from high school in 1948.  She went on to pursue her love of working in the medical field by attending Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. After her schooling she moved to Grand Forks, ND and started working for Dr. Q. T. Benson. It was during this time when she met her husband, Edwin.  They were married on September 28,1952 in rural Hannah at the Lutheran church. They had 3 children William, Richard and Brenda.  While raising her family she continued working. After Dr. Benson retired, she worked for Dr. Helenbolt and Dr. Doce at Grand Forks/Altru Clinic until her retirement in 1994.  Faith and family were her life.  She cherished every moment she got to spend with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  LaDora was a member of United Lutheran for the past 65 years. After her retirement she became a member of the Altru auxiliary and volunteered in the gift shop for many years.  She also loved playing bridge with her friends and always enjoyed a game of solitaire.  Those that were blessed to share in her life are her husband of 64 years, Edwin Grand Forks, ND,  children Bill (Candy) Emerado, ND, Rick (Deb) Dickinson, ND and Brenda Clark (Walter Smith), Fridley, MN.  6 grandchildren Emmy (Eric) Loycano, Brandi Fuehrer (Scott Harloff), Ben ( Shannon) Stoffel, Jonathan (Laura) Fuehrer, Hana (Alex) Cameron and Stephanie (Jon) Ficek.  8 great grandchildren Brody, Jaxon, Dominic, Lilyana, Abigail, Parker, Elyse and Ezra.  Special nieces, Cleo Bachmeier, Lois Backman and Lori Wavrin, and sisters-in-law Jeannie King and Evelyn Delzer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Harvey, Winton and Alda. Celebration of LaDora’s life is at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 29th, at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks with visitation 1 hour before the service in the church.
