Rodney M. Fischer, 69, Grand Forks, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare, Almonte Neighborhood. Rodney Maynard Fischer was born to Maynard and Ella (Lange) Fischer on November 18, 1947 at Northwood, North Dakota. He was raised at Emerado, North Dakota and graduated from Larimore, North Dakota High School. He later graduated from NDSU. Rodney married Mary Jane Stoltman in 1973. They lived in Grand Forks where Rod was employed in carpentry. He worked for Wood Products in Grand Forks and later operated Rod’s Custom Cabinets until the flood of 1997 when he went to work for Community Contractors building custom cabinetry and wood trim. Rod is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, Grand Forks; a sister, Eileen Griffin, Coon Rapids, MN; brother, Daniel Fischer, Mesa, AZ; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Lisa Haupert. Mass of Christian Burial: will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 in Holy Family Catholic Church 1018 18th Ave, South, Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Warsaw, North Dakota.
