Marilyn A. Bjerke

Marilyn A.  Bjerke, 78, Grand Forks, died Friday, August 25, 2017 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.Marilyn Irene Albert, the daughter of Arnold and Mabel (Covel) Albert,  was born September 24, 1938 near Erie, North Dakota.  She graduated from Erie High School in 1956.  Marilyn graduated from Mayville State College in 1958 and 1964.  She married Dale L. Bjerke on November 23, 1962 at Methodist Church in Arthur, North Dakota.  Marilyn was a teacher at Hatton Public School from 1958 to 1961, then taught from 1961-1993 at Grand Forks Schroeder Junior High School.  Marilyn’s hobbies included oil painting, travel, perennial flower gardens, photography, and coffee and lunch with friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale, who died Oct. 18, 1995, and a brother, Melvin.  Survivors include a sister, Carolyn Albert, Casselton, ND;  a brother, Marvin Albert, West Fargo, ND;  niece Karen Albert, Fargo, N;  and nephew Kory Albert, Bismarck, ND. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.  Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Hatton, North Dakota.
