DOROTHY J. GREEN Dorothy Green, Age 87 of Aneta formerly Mekinock, died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 in a Aneta nursing home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. Burial will be in the Ness Cemetery of Mekinock. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Dorothy J. Green, a daughter of Willard and Esther (Bratan) Thoerson, was born on December 22, 1929 at Duluth, MN. She was reared and educated in the Duluth area graduating from Central Highschool. In 1950 she moved to Grand Forks, ND. Dorothy became an X-Ray Tec at Deaconess Hospital. On March 10, 1951 she was married to Clayton Vold in Duluth, MN. They lived in Mekinock where she worked at the hospital and helped on the farm. Clayton passed away on October 22, 1974. Dorothy moved to Grand Forks. In 1977 she married Bert Green. They moved to Lamoure for a time. Later they moved to Colorado then to Las Vegas. This marriage later ended. She returned to Grand Forks. In 2015 she moved to Aneta and has resided since. She enjoyed farm life, raising chicken’s and selling the eggs, playing organ or piano at the church and knitting. Dorothy loved to go to the casino and trying her chances against the 1-armed bandits. She is survived by her sons, Mitchell Vold and Jeffery Vold both of Mekinock; daughter, Marjorie Huckaby of Kansas City, MO; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Howie Thoreson of Duluth, MN. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clayton and a brother Richard Thoreson.
