Danny C. Rux

Danny Charles Rux, age 54 of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Danny Rux was born on April 14, 1963 in Grand Forks, the son of the late Larry and Marlene (Thomasson) Rux. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Red River High School in 1981. While in high school he was a member of the Roughriders hockey and football teams. He attended the University of North Dakota and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial Technology. After graduation, Danny lived in California for a brief time before returning to Grand Forks to work with his dad and brother at the family business, Rux Painting. Danny was an avid sports fan cheering on his favorite teams UND Fighting Sioux, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. He also enjoyed playing fastpitch softball. As a child and into his adult life he enjoyed spending time at Roy Lake where he would spend hours on the water fishing and going for pontoon rides. Although Danny was very soft spoken he was kindhearted to all those he met over the years. Anyone who knew Danny, also knew his love of his Dalmatians dogs and they were truly his best companions and were always by his side. He is survived by his sister, Jeaninne (Scott) Durkee, Mosinee, WI and brother, Mike (Jan Osowski), Grand Forks. Nieces, Morgan (Charlie) Miller and Callie (Jeremy O’Keefe) and great-niece, Isla Miller, all of Grand Forks. Aunt, Nancy (Bear) Jensen, Park River, ND along with cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Martin and Alice Rux and Sig and Evie Thomasson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
