Lynn Kenneth Quamme, age 68, of Grand Forks passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. He was born on September 26, 1949, in Hettinger, ND, to Herbert E. and Bernice (Marple) Quamme. He was baptized and confirmed at Richland Lutheran Church. He attended grade school in rural Adams County in North Dakota. He graduated from Hettinger High School in 1967. Lynn enlisted in the Navy in 1967 and was medically discharged after completing boot camp. He attended the University of North Dakota, majoring in Political Science, and later taught Guitar Performance there. In 1975, Lynn started Fingerstring Music, teaching all levels and styles of guitar and later expanded to include a guitar store. Lynn married Lois Jorgenson in May of 1979. They had one son, Joshua Zachary and resided in Grand Forks. Lynn enjoyed spending his time playing guitar, debating politics, watching his grandsons play hockey and various other sports, and playing catch with the boys in the backyard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Bernice Quamme, and sister Marcelyn Door. Lynn is survived by his wife Lois; his son Josh (Summer) Quamme and grandsons Cale, Chay, and Colt; siblings, Edward Quamme, Robert (Barb) Quamme, and Charlotte (Gene) Meschke; he is also survived by brother-in-law George Door, sister-in-law Lynda Jorgenson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He wanted people to know that he was a good welder. Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
