Margaret (Timian) Augustin (84) passed away peacefully at home on March 15, 2018 in Grand Forks, ND. She was born on March 17, 1933 in Crystal, ND to the late Otto and Augusta Timian. Margaret married Dale Augustin on November 16, 1952 in rural Crystal, ND and were happily married for 56 years until Dale’s passing in April of 2009. After they wed, they moved to Fairbanks, Alaska for two years prior to moving back to Grand Forks, ND. Margaret started playing the church organ at a young age in Crystal, ND, and played the organ at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks for twenty-two years. She was the President of LWML and volunteered at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks for over 10 years. Dale and Margaret enjoyed spending their winters in Maui, Hawaii and their summers at their lake home in Minnesota. Margaret is survived by her children; Steve Augustin, Grand Forks, ND, Debbie (Dave) Schulenberg, Sun City Center, FL, Paul Augustin, Grand Forks, ND and Peggy (Ken) Carlson, Waunakee, WI. She leaves behind two grandchildren, Adam and Grant that she loved and adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Augusta Timian; husband, Dale; sisters, Verona Farol, Agnes (Knodel) Bohn, Laura Timian, Evelyn Bohn; brother, Richard Timian; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 29th, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks from 3– 4 p.m. with the service to follow at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s honor to Immanuel Lutheran Church or North Dakota Vision Services. Interment will be this spring at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Crystal, ND.
