Robert “Butch” Skari, 68, Grand Forks, ND, died Sunday, April 8, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Butch was born March 4, 1950, in Bagley, MN, the son of Edwin and Inga (Dahl) Skari. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks. He worked for his brother at Dave’s Radiator. Butch served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, then returned to Grand Forks and resumed working at Dave’s Radiator. He married Jean Bluemke on April 21, 1979 in Grand Forks. They made their home in Grand Forks where they raised their 4 daughters. In 1983, Butch opened Skari’s Radiator, a business he still owned and operated. Butch raced cars in the late model circuit. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching NASCAR, doing home projects and crossword puzzles. Survivors include his wife, Jean, Grand Forks; daughters, Jamie (Ali) Mesrour, Fargo, ND, Kellie (Ryan) Jarombek, Grand Forks, Lindsey (Mike) Ullrich, Grand Forks, Mallory (Ryan) Gatzke, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Taylor Jarombek, Isabelle Jarombek, Nora Jarombek, Austin Ullrich and Abbie Ullrich, All of Grand Forks; brothers, Edwin (Colleen) Skari, St. Paul, MN and Ronnie Skari, Grand Forks; sister, Dori (Tim) Hansen, Palmyra, VA., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Raymond, Vernon, Donnie and David; and sisters, Edwina, Doreen and Virginia. Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 13, 2018 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in the late spring. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #157, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3817 and the North Dakota Army National Guard.
