Millie Schroeder

Mille Schroeder, age 97, passed away peacefully at Altru Hospital on May 25, 2018 after a brief illness.Mildred Barbara Anderson was born October 7, 1920 in Holmes, ND to Edward and Elizabeth Anderson.  She moved to Thompson, ND and graduated from high school in 1937.  She went to Aaker’s Business College and worked at Central Lumbar Co., Peavey Flour Mill, and 1st National Bank.  Millie married Arthur Pladson April 3, 1939 and was widowed November 8, 1969.  She then married Warren Schroeder May 29, 1982 and he passed away July 1, 1998. Millie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and friend.  She was a volunteer for twenty years at Valley Memorial Home, was active in her church, United Lutheran, especially during the “donut days”, loved to play cards and was always up for anything.  Being with her family was the highlight of her life.  Millie always had company as she had so many friends.  Some very special friends are:  Marie, Kay, Beth, Delores, Marge and Jeannie, as well as her Parkwood family. Millie is preceded by death by her parents, husbands, sister, Lillian Jacobson and son Gary Pladson. She is survived by Dennis (Bonnie) Pladson, Cindy Pladson, grandchildren Laurie (Tom) Kuchera, Christy (Jerry) Areshenko, Julie (Paul) Gilbertson, Todd (Cindy) Pladson, and Troy Pladson, great grand children Annie (Massimo) Nardone, Jake (Abby) Areshenko, Logan (Ashley) Kuchera, Mackenzie (Danny Rudeen), Ryan Pladson, Hank Pladson, and Zach Gilbertson.  Great grandchildren:  Vincenzo Nardone and two on the way. Her nieces and nephew, the Jacobson’s, were like her own children and she loved them very much. Millie had a very full life and wanted so greatly to go heaven to see Art, Lil, Gary and her parents.  She will be greatly missed as she was so greatly loved. Funeral Services will be  11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church.  Interment will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
