Christopher T. Bacon, aged 51, went to be with the Lord on June 7th, 2018. He was involved in a fatal car accident with another vehicle. Born April 9th, 1967 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX to Spencer Bacon and Cheri Plaza. He lived a full life filled with adventure and humility. As a child, he traveled and made friends in Spain, Turkey, Germany, Libya, Biloxi MS, High School in Panama City FL, but Texas was always “Home Base”. Chris served his country in many forms over the last 31 years from Specialist in the U.S. Army to protecting All of our borders with the U. S. Customs & Border Patrol. He was Proud, Grateful, and Humble to serve his family and the United States of America. While his gifts he gave us may go at times unrecognized, we will always be impacted by the Legacy he leaves behind. Thank you, Chris for your Service! Chris is survived by his wife Rhonda Bacon and his 4 children Bobby C. Bacon, Jake W. Bacon, Kristen Bacon, and Jasmine Wilson, father Spencer Bacon, mother Cheri Plaza, sister Jacquelin Callaway, uncle Ronnie & Gay Venegas, aunt Linda & Matt Larrigan, aunt Cindy Bacon, uncle Paul & Roxana Bacon, grandmothers Betsey Venegas and Melie McIntosh, as well as 3 more uncles and 1 aunt. Preceded in death by his grandfather Bobby G. Bacon and grandparents Bill & Jerry Potteet, Chris will be in good company. He had many Loves that included meeting his beautiful wife Rhonda in North Dakota, raising & mentoring his children, riding motorcycles with his grandfather, being a Strong Dad & Empathetic husband, faithfully serving his country, being a Hockey & Cheer Dad, Family trips, or just being a dependable friend. His persistence to bring people together as family and friends will be cherished for lifetimes. “When an officer is killed, it’s not an agency that loses an officer, it’s an entire nation” Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday June 14th, 2018 at the Alerus Center, Grand Forks. Please use door #1. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date in June at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX where he will be buried with Honors.
